Joel’s practice is built on over 15 years of experience in large and small firms in national and local markets. Joel began his law practice at a large New Orleans litigation firm representing clients locally and nationally in agricultural law, products liability, intellectual property, and commercial disputes. After several years in the Big Easy, he moved to the growing economies of Northwest Arkansas, joining a small general practice firm which allowed him to be closer to family. Joel launched his own law practice with the goal of merging the best qualities of both large and small practices.
Joel grew up in rural Oklahoma where his family raised commercial and purebred cattle, so his agricultural law practice is a natural extension of who he is. After earning his Juris Doctor degree, he went on to earn a Master of Laws degree in Agricultural Law from the University of Arkansas, the only advanced law degree program for agricultural law in the United States. Joel regularly represents agribusinesses, particularly seed and horticultural companies, livestock producers, farmers, and animal owners in matters that uniquely impact their business and way of life. His focus in this area of the law provides Joel frequent opportunities to speak to industry groups and professionals on agricultural issues.
Joel takes pride in his farm work ethic – honest success doesn’t cut corners – it is the result of hard work and dedication. He brings that same integrity to his law practice.
Outside the office, Joel is a compulsive fixer and builder of “stuff.” Whether a home improvement project, re-purposing antiques, building fence, or just fixing his kids’ toys, he enjoys taking things apart and making them work better.
I basically look for any opportunity to break out my tools and tear into something.
Joel also bleeds black and gold as a dedicated citizen of the Who Dat Nation (fans of the New Orleans Saints).
